| History
of Our African Art Collection |

|
At
first we started collecting African art and craft
pieces simply as presents for friends and relatives.
We appreciated the art for its aesthetic quality
and for the amazing craftsmanship that it took to
make. The fact that people in the middle of the
bush with no access to power tools can produce goods
of such fantastic form and quality was extraordinary
to us.
Then
we found that the demand for solid
tribal African art
was consistently
strong in the USA and decide
to go into business
by showing our art at festivals, street fairs, gift
shows, travel shows, storefronts, warehouses, and
now the internet.
On our travels we have been
through floods, civil war zones and mosquito infested
swamps, and we have experienced some rather harassing
situations. On the opposite side, we have seen nature
in its most beautiful forms, plains of grassland
filled with herds of animals as far as the eye can
see, buffalo, zebra and giraffe.
There
is so much to learn about the continent of Africa
and the knowledge of cultures that have not been
captured in
books. There is also a cohesion between the peoples
and tribes in Africa
that is not really shown by the news media that
reaches
the rest of the world.
Our professional and quality conscious approach
to the business
has made us a reliable name in the overseas market.
Owning African art may prove to be one of the greatest
financial investments you will ever make; but the
real returns are in the pleasure created by the
beauty and cultural significance of the works themselves.
