Update Service for Serious Art Collectors and
Tribal Enthusiasts.
Do to fact that each art piece is unique you can
expect completely new art to arrive periodically.
Our next shipment arrives in mid-July, 2002. All
of our African works of art are distributed on
a first come, first serve, basis. Join
our Mailing List to keep up do date on
our newest carving in wood, stone, fabric, and
metal.
Instead
of the spirit of the art piece speaking to the
artist and liberating itself from the stone through
the hands of the carver, the beauty of nature
is brought to the stone and frozen in time. The
inspiration is external rather than internal,
the idea comes from the beauty of the land and
the geopsyche of the earth crossing points into
the mind of the artist. The carver finds himself
out this inner-outer life, the results are striking.
Value, (despite recognized benchmarks) 'artistic
value' is a personal measurement. For the collector,
the broader understanding of this subject can
result in a 'feeling' for a particular work that
may invoke no reaction at all from someone else.
While we only concern ourselves with tribal relics
in this section, we certainly do not exclude the
artistic value of other tribal artworks or contemporary
African art.
Contemporary wildlife carvings, stone sculptures
and paintings from Africa are enormously popular
with both art collectors and wildlife enthusiasts
alike. Is it a unique i nspiration
or affinity the African artist has for the wildlife
which he sharesenvironments with? Perhaps the
light the artist works with? The African concept
of "oneness" that gives the tribal artist a special
insight which is reflected in his carvings? -whatever
it is, it is recognized and appreciated by art
lovers the world over!
